Custom DVD Folders: Presentation Folders That Carry Your Disc

Custom DVD folders are full-size presentation folders with a slot or pocket built in for a CD or DVD. They let you hand over a printed proposal and its video, software or data disc in one branded folder.

  • 9 x 12 in folder size
  • CD/DVD slits or pocket
  • Holds papers and a disc

Papers and a Disc in One Folder

A disc on its own gets lost in a stack of mail. Pair it with the documents it supports and it stays with the deal. A DVD presentation folder keeps the brochure, the contract and the disc together from the first meeting to the final file drawer.

This is the key difference from a CD jacket. A jacket is a small sleeve built only for the disc. A DVD folder is a letter-size custom presentation folder that also holds media, so the paperwork comes first and the disc rides along.

Slits, Pockets and Disc Placement

Four die-cut CD slits are the simplest option. The disc corners tuck into the slits on the inside pocket, so the disc sits flat and stays visible. Slits cost no extra board and fit any standard folder layout.

A glued disc pocket holds the disc fully enclosed, which protects the surface from scratches. Many buyers place it on the right pocket next to business card slits. For heavy media kits, a capacity pocket on the other side carries a thick report without bending the disc.

Ordering DVD Folders Step by Step

  1. Decide whether the disc should sit in open slits or a closed pocket.
  2. Choose which inside pocket holds the disc and where card slits go.
  3. Request a die-line template so your art clears the disc slits.
  4. Approve the free digital proof showing the disc position.
  5. Insert your papers and discs, then hand out or mail the finished folders.

Who Still Ships DVD Pocket Folders

Discs remain common where files must work offline or be kept on record. Law firms deliver case files on disc. Medical imaging centers send scans to patients. Training companies, architects and wedding videographers hand over finished media in a printed folder.

Press offices also use them in media kits, with photos on a disc beside the printed release. A matching press kit folder design can share the same artwork with or without disc slits.

Print Choices for CD Presentation Folders

Most DVD folders print in full color on 14 pt or 16 pt C2S board. Matte or soft-touch lamination gives a calm, high-end feel, while gloss makes photos pop. Spot UV or foil on the cover logo adds a finishing touch.

If you print the disc label too, match its colors to the folder using Pantone spot colors. That way the folder and disc look like one product when the client opens it.

Think about how the folder will travel, too. If you mail kits, a closed disc pocket and 16 pt board stand up better in an envelope than open slits. Uncoated or kraft board works for a natural look, though it shows fingerprints more than a laminated sheet. Let us know the mailing plan and we will suggest a build.

Features Buyers Ask For

  • Disc slits on the right pocket beside card slits
  • Closed disc pocket to guard against scratches
  • Matching print for the folder and disc label
  • Soft-touch lamination for client-facing kits
  • Capacity pocket for thick reports
  • Foil logo on the front cover

Custom DVD Folders: questions we get

What is the difference between a DVD folder and a CD jacket?

A DVD folder is a full presentation folder that holds papers plus a disc. A CD jacket is a small sleeve sized just for the disc. Pick the folder when the disc supports printed documents.

Do CD slits work for DVDs and Blu-ray discs?

Yes. CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray discs share the same 4.7 in diameter, so the same slits or pocket fit all three.

Can I add a USB slot instead of a disc?

Yes. Many clients now ship files on a flash drive. Our folders with a USB slot use the same folder build with a slot cut for the drive.

Will the disc slits weaken the pocket?

No. The slits are short cuts placed away from folds and glue lines. On 14 pt or 16 pt board the pocket keeps its strength.

Can you insert the discs for us?
