Make the Case for Support on the Folder Itself
A donor packet has one job: move someone from interested to giving. Use the inside panels for that story rather than a repeated logo. A photo of the people you serve, two or three impact figures and a clear giving ask can all sit on the inside left.
The pocket then holds the details: a gift reply card, a pledge form and the annual report. A business card slit puts the development officer's card in reach when the donor is ready to talk.
Keep the language warm and specific. A line about one family helped or one acre restored tells donors more than a long mission statement does.

Custom Nonprofit Folders for Galas and Grant Meetings
At a gala, a folder at each place setting can hold the program, the auction list and a pledge card. Guests leave with it, so your follow-up letter reaches someone who already has your story at home. The same build doubles as event folders for conferences at your annual summit.
Grant proposals call for a quieter look. A clean white folder with a single spot color and a capacity pocket holds a bound proposal, budget pages and letters of support. Reviewers see a well-organized submission before they read a word.
Planning a Donor Folder
- Decide which audience comes first: major donors, gala guests or grant committees.
- Write the inside story, keeping impact figures short and current.
- Keep dates and amounts off the cover so the folder stays useful for longer.
- Send your logo and brand colors, then approve the free digital proof with your director.
- Ask for pricing on a short run and a larger run before you choose.
Stretching a Tight Budget Wisely
Most nonprofits need every dollar to go to the mission. One evergreen design that skips dates and campaign names can serve for several years. Put the time-sensitive details on a slip-in insert instead.
Recycled-content stock and kraft folders with white ink fit groups whose supporters care about materials. One or two spot colors keep the design simple while still matching your brand.
Ask us to quote two quantities at once. A larger evergreen run often makes sense when the design will serve donor meetings, galas and volunteer days alike.
Folders for Volunteers and Board Members
Volunteers need a different packet from donors. Their folder holds the schedule, safety notes, a site map and a contact sheet, so a lighter 100 lb cover with aqueous coating is often enough. Bright colors and a friendly welcome line set the tone for the first shift.
Board members receive the most detailed folder of all. A capacity pocket holds the bylaws, budget summary, strategic plan and meeting calendar. A simple foil-stamped logo on a matte cover gives the packet the weight the role deserves.

Custom Nonprofit Folders: questions we get
How is a nonprofit folder order priced?
Every order is quoted on its own build and quantity. Tell us you are a nonprofit and the quantities you are weighing when you request a folder quote, and we lay the options out side by side.
Is recycled-content stock sturdy enough?
Yes, for most uses. It prints well in full color and holds a normal stack of inserts. For a heavy annual report, ask about a capacity pocket.
Can the folder hold a reply card for gifts?
Yes. A custom die-cut pocket can be shaped to hold a reply card upright so it stays in view. Our custom die cut folders page shows shaped pockets.
Should we print a different folder for each campaign?
Usually not. One core design with campaign inserts is easier to manage. Save a campaign-specific folder for a capital campaign or a milestone anniversary.
Can corporate sponsors appear on gala folders?
Yes. The back cover can carry a sponsor logo grid. Send each logo as vector art and double-check sponsor names before the proof.
Can volunteers help stuff the folders?
Yes. Order folders flat and shrink-wrapped in sets, and a volunteer evening can fill them quickly. Set out the inserts in pocket order so each folder comes out the same.
