Custom School Folders With Your Mascot and School Colors

Custom school folders put your mascot, crest and school colors on the folders students carry every day and on the packets families receive at admission. Schools, districts, PTOs and booster clubs order them for classrooms, open houses and enrollment.

Student Folders That Survive a Backpack

A student folder has a hard life. It gets stuffed, dropped and dragged in and out of a bag every day. For classroom use, choose 16 pt C2S with gloss lamination, or go with polypropylene, which shrugs off spills and bent corners.

A 3 prong fastener in the middle turns the folder into a light binder for worksheets. Our page on folders with 3 prong fasteners shows how the fastener sits between the pockets. Teachers also like a printed name box on a matte cover, since it takes pen well.

Mascots, Crests and Exact School Colors

School colors matter to students and alumni, so match them with Pantone spot colors rather than leaving them to CMYK. A red that drifts toward orange will be noticed in the hallway. We check your mascot art and flag fine lines that may fill in on press.

Spirit folders for the student store can go bolder, with full bleed mascot art, a team slogan and a glossy finish. White ink on kraft gives a vintage athletic look that sells well at booster club tables. Our guide to stocks and finishes compares each surface.

Getting a School Folder Order Ready

  1. Decide whether this run is for students, admissions or both, since stock and finish differ.
  2. Send the mascot or crest as vector art with your Pantone color numbers.
  3. Choose pockets and fasteners based on what students or families will keep inside.
  4. Review the free digital proof with your principal or admissions lead.
  5. Tell us the delivery address and the date classes or the open house begin.

Custom School Folders for Admissions and Enrollment

The admissions packet is a different job. It goes to parents choosing between schools, so it should feel closer to a business presentation than a classroom supply. A soft-touch cover, a foil-stamped crest and campus photos inside show families what the school is like before they visit.

Inside, the pockets hold the viewbook, enrollment forms, a campus map and the admissions officer's card. Many private schools match the packet to their graduation and diploma folders, so the first and last folder a family receives look alike.

Folders for Teachers, Offices and Fundraisers

Not every school folder goes to a student. Front offices use branded folders for transcripts, records requests and new staff paperwork. Counselors use them for college application materials, so a student leaves with every form in one place.

Booster clubs and PTOs often resell spirit folders as a small fundraiser. A design with the mascot, the school year and a short slogan sells best when it changes each fall. Planning the order before the supply list goes home gives families time to buy.

Where Schools Use Custom Folders

  • Back-to-school supply lists for every grade
  • Homework and take-home folders
  • Spirit sales at the student store
  • Open house and campus tour packets
  • Enrollment and registration packets
  • Booster club and PTO fundraisers
  • Substitute teacher folders kept in each classroom

Custom School Folders: questions we get

Are plastic folders better for younger students?

Often, yes. Polypropylene bends without creasing and wipes clean, which suits elementary classrooms. Our custom plastic folders page explains the poly options in more detail.

Can we print different folders for each grade?

Yes. Many schools change the color or the grade label while keeping the mascot the same. Each version gets its own proof, and one quote can cover the full set.

Can PTOs or booster clubs order directly?

Yes. Anyone with permission to use the school's logo can request a quote. We send the proof to whoever places the order.

How do you match our school colors?

Send your Pantone numbers and we print them as spot colors. If you only have a hex or CMYK value, we suggest the closest Pantone match before anything goes to press.

What goes in an admissions packet folder?

Most schools include a viewbook, an application or enrollment form, a fee sheet, a campus map and a staff card. Plan the pocket depth around the thickest item, which is usually the viewbook.
